Wow | UOB PRVI Miles Elite Sees Huge Upgrade with 2.4 MPR on Agoda

UOB Malaysia has introduced a major upgrade to the UOB PRVI Miles Elite credit card.

Although there hasn’t been an official announcement as of January 14, 8 PM, the updated benefits are already reflected on the card’s webpage.

In my earlier articles, I highlighted how UOB’s recent devaluation had severely diminished the card’s appeal. However, with these new enhancements, the UOB PRVI Miles Elite has gone from nearly obsolete to an absolute must-have. This upgrade has made my switch from CIMB to UOB even more compelling. Let’s dive into the details.

Key Changes to the UOB PRVI Miles Elite

The first major enhancement is that the card now offers 1 MPR (Miles per Ringgit) on overseas spending in specific countries: Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

For other countries, the card retains its previous rate of 0.83 MPR, similar to the UOB Visa Infinite. This change makes the card highly valuable for regional travelers who frequently visit these destinations.

Another game-changing update is the improved rewards for Agoda hotel bookings. Cardholders can now earn:

• 2.4 MPR for Agoda bookings made in SGD, THB, VND, and IDR.

• 2.25 MPR for bookings made in other foreign currencies.

• 1.5 MPR for bookings made in MYR.

However, it’s worth noting that the Bonus UNIRM (UOB’s reward currency) will only be credited within three months of your card being charged. There also appear to be no caps or restrictions beyond the requirement to book through the dedicated Agoda link.

Just incase you don't see how big of a deal this is, I've updated my Ultimate Category-Specific Guide to showcase these changes on the Hotel/OTA categories.

These enhancements are monumental, especially the ability to earn 2.25–2.4 MPR on Agoda hotel bookings, which is one of the best promotions in the industry right now.

Final Thoughts

This limited-time promotion is valid until mid-2026, giving you ample time to maximize its benefits. In my opinion, this is an upgrade that’s simply too good to miss. The ability to earn up to 2.4 MPR on hotel stays via Agoda sets a new benchmark for credit card rewards.

I have been an AgodaVIP Platinum for years now, and have mostly consolidated my leisure bookings on Agoda. This is truly a significant change for me in the right direction as well.

If you’re someone who frequently travels within the region or books accommodations through Agoda, the UOB PRVI Miles Elite is a must-have.

In terms of my overall credit card strategy for UOB, things now get a little more complicated. With the UOB Visa Infinite's 0.41 MPR on Dining, it still remains a brilliant credit card, albeit only complementary. In fact, with the recent changes, the UOB PRVI Miles Elite should be your primary credit card of choice within UOB's ecosystem, except for local dining spend.

If I were Visa, I'd be pretty surprised by such a change, which effectively alienates its own cardholders!

Last but not least, I find it pretty amusing (yet welcome) that UOB's tagline is "2.4 air miles per RM1 spent on Agoda". This is probably the first time we've seen any bank in Malaysia directly address the MPR rates of its own credit card, which is common in Singapore.

All in all, I am pleasantly surprised to see such a significant upgrade, and this definitely paves the way for UOB to steal some market share in the long run. It's safe to say that if this positive momentum continues, things will definitely get better for them.
