Wow. As far as surprises go, UOB continues to offer generous benefits to its top-tier credit card holders. Previously, the bank had a designated enclosed area within the Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA Terminal 1 for its cardmembers.
This space was situated adjacent to the washrooms and offered UOB cardmembers a more confined area for added comfort.
Despite that, the food and beverage offerings for UOB cardmembers were still similar to other travellers seated in the common area in the lounge, so the confined space is just for additional privacy and comfort.
However, UOB has now designated an additional area located to the left of the previous confined area for its top-tier cardholders. This newly confined area is separated from the rest of the lounge via two large doors, and is a truly exclusive space, given that it is completely separated from the lounge itself.
The F&B offerings were similar to that of the next-door Plaza Premium First lounge with the only difference being that there isn't a QR-code for ordering your food, but rather, a personal attendant would be stationed outside the zone to attend to any needs.
It's amazing how UOB now offers this exclusive space to its top-of-the-line customers. For those that don't appreciate how great of a benefit this is, just go ahead and visit the lounge on a Saturday morning.
You'll find that both the Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First lounges are packed to the brim! Not to mention, UOB also offers its cardmembers with a complementary cocktail or mocktail of choice.
Final Thoughts
UOB continues to level up its travel-related benefits for credit card holders.
I previously reviewed the UOB PRVI Miles Elite Credit Card here, and I have mentioned that it's definitely a great credit card to have, given its complimentary 8X lounge access for both primary and supplementary cardholders (separate access limits) and a stunning 1 Airline Mile = RM0.90 miles earning rate for overseas spending, making it officially the best credit card in Malaysia for overseas spending.
Maybe both CIMB and Maybank should take cues from UOB's recent credit card strategy!
