I previously reviewed the Alliance Bank Visa Infinite credit card here. My recommendation was a follow up to my fellow bloggers to cancel your CIMB e Credit Card as CIMB no longer grants you 12X Bonus Points for E-Wallet reloads.
The Alliance Bank Visa Infinite however still grants you 8X TBP for E-Wallet reloads, and hence, if you are a fan of Enrich Miles, you can consider grabbing this credit card. However, do read my upcoming article about a huge Enrich Miles devaluation before you jump the gun.
On today's topic at hand, Alliance Bank has recently announced that its Alliance Bank Visa Infinite and Alliance Bank Privilege Visa Signature cardholders can now access the Travel Club Lounges at KLIA Terminal 1 and KLIA Terminal 2.
Interestingly, access to Travel Club Lounges are stacked on top of the existing lounge entry rules.
This means that if you enter the Travel Club Lounges using your Alliance Bank Visa Infinite credit card, your existing 2X lounge access annually is not used. This means that you essentially have 3X access to lounges for 2024.
Are the Travel Club Lounges worth the entry?
I wrote in my previous review of the Plaza Premium First that a new vendor has taken over the previous Plaza Premium Lounge location at KLIA Satellite Terminal, now that both Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First has relocated to the KLIA Main Terminal Building.
I have been told by fellow blog readers that the Travel Club Lounge at KLIA Satellite Terminal is always packed as many airlines use this lounge for its Business and First Class passengers, such as Emirates.
In hindsight, while I'll eventually make a move to review the lounge myself, I don't see the offerings at the lounge to be worthy of a visit, at least for now. The F&B offerings for example look far inferior to the Plaza Premium Lounges, but again, as I have not been into the lounge, I'll reserve my opinion for later on.
What about the Travel Club Lounges at KLIA Terminal 2?
I actually think that if you were going to use your Travel Club Lounge pass, you should utilize it at Travel Club Lounge near Gates P/Q at KLIA Terminal 2.
For those who don't know, the Travel Club Lounge situated at the Sama-Sama Hotel after the notoriously long walk from KLIA Terminal 2 Main Building is the only lounge available.
You'll find that most international flights will depart from Gates P/Q, and hence, if you have a gate there prior to your flight, a visit to the Travel Club Lounge is highly recommended.
Previously, the only lounge available at KLIA Terminal 2 is the Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge at Gateway@KLIA2, which I have also reviewed.
There is also another Travel Club Lounge situated near the 'L' Gates at KLIA Terminal 2, but I was told that it is much smaller. A number of flights to nearby ASEAN destinates usually depart from the 'L' Gates at KLIA Terminal 2, so if you are travelling with your gate at 'L', do check out the Travel Club Lounge.
Final Thoughts
With the addition of Travel Club Lounge access for Alliance Bank Visa Infinite cardholders, the credit card has now greater value than ever before, but only if you are into redeeming for Enrich Miles. Remember, Enrich Miles are some of the worst value-for-ringgit conversions in Malaysia, so do your due diligence on whether it's worth to focus on one credit card before you obtain the Alliance Bank Visa Infinite credit card.
With the Travel Club Lounges now seeing additional access granted to credit card holders from Maybank, UOB and now Alliance Bank, I definitely foresee other banks tying up with Travel Club Lounge soon.
